Requirements:

  • Aviation Medical-Category 3
  • Private Ground School - Transport Canada minimum 40 hours, our own is 48 hours
  • Flight Instruction - Transport Canada minimum 45 hours total, 17 hours dual and 12 hours solo
  • Written Exam - 60% Pass Mark
  • Practical Flight Test

The average demonstrated time to complete licence tends to be closer to 60-65 hours of flying. Island Air's regular ground school totals 48 hours of instruction over the course of 8 weeks.
